LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the accuracy and reproducibility of physical examination of the hemodialysis access.
- Obtain knowledge of the basic principles of physical examination and the characteristics of a normal arteriovenous access.
- Be able to evaluate and assess the mature fistula by history and physical examination and select the most appropriate access from history and physical examination and the ability to diagnose common hemodialysis problems.
- Be able to diagnose common post-placement hemodialysis access problems from history and physical examination.
TARGET AUDIENCE The activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, nephrologists, general surgeons and physicians who perform open and or interventional dialysis access procedures in patients in the US and Internationally.
METHOD OF PARTICIPATION
To obtain credit, a score of 70% or better on the post-test is required. Please proceed with the activity until you have reviewed module materials, successfully answered all post-test questions, completed the evaluation, and have received a digital copy of your CME certificate.
